About Antrim Church of Christ
our CORE VALUES:
1. Follow Jesus.
This is the most important part of who Antrim is. We exist to be the best followers of Jesus that we can be. It’s a continual process that we are working through together.
2. Love Others Where They Are.
Jesus loved people no matter where they were in their spiritual journey. He commanded his followers to do the same. Because love is complex, we look to Jesus as our example of how to love people in ways that also honor God.
3. Be Kingdom Builders.
Jesus wanted his followers to be united in their work. Our desire is to work with other followers of Jesus locally and globally to expand Jesus’s Kingdom and influence.
4. Serve with Our Abilities.
God equips each of his followers to serve his kingdom. He expects each of us to use our abilities to contribute to the health and growth of his kingdom.
our beliefs:
Antrim Church of Christ is a non-denominational church with a self-governing body. As imperfect individuals, we gather every Sunday to proclaim Jesus as our Savior and our King through serving, worship and hearing of the Word.
-
We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God. 1 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
-
We recognize that Acts 2:42 outlines necessary functions of a Christ-centered church: "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
-
We take part in a weekly remembrance of Jesus' death on a cross through communion and encourage everybody to do this as often as they can throughout the week. Nobody will be prohibited from taking The Lord's Supper.
-
The worship music may be either from instruments played live or more commonly pre-recorded. This background music is then accompanied with singing led by a worship team and the rest of the congregation.
-
We believe that salvation is only possible through God's mercy. How God applies this mercy and what we must do to be granted this mercy is described throughout Scripture:
GOD'S PART
1. The great love of God for man (John 3:16)
2. He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Saviour (Luke 19:10)
3. Sent the Holy Spirit as a guide (John 16:13)
4. Gave the Gospel as "the power" unto salvation (Romans 1:16)
5. Provided atonement by the blood of Christ (Romans 5:9)
OUR PART
1. Hear the Gospel. (Romans 10:17, John 8:32)
2. Believe the Gospel (Hebrews 11:6, John 20:31)
3. Repent of past sins (Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30)
4. Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:10, Matthew 10:32)
5. Be Baptized (Galatians 3:27, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38)
